The Madison County Farmers Market has a special event exemption for transient vendors/food trucks/trailers permits being needed. Per the Winterset City Administrator, you do not need a separate transient permit. Your establishment will fall under the special event exemption the Madison County Farmer’s Market holds. This means less costs for you as a food truck.

Please note, current city code REQUIRES every vendor to carry a minimum of $300,000 in liability coverage.
All vendor application requests will be fully vetted by the market managers (Clinton & Kelli Eshelman) prior to approval. You will receive confirmation of vendor approval once your application is vetted within 7 to 10 business days of application.
Please note, returning vendors have priority booth preference placement over new or one-time vendors. We will do our best to give everyone the booth location they desire.
Vendor booth placement will be announced via email, social media & on the website NLT May 5th for the 2025 season.
One Time vendor requests after the start of the market will be vetted and approved/disapproved withing 24 to 48 hours of application.
We ask that any one-time vendor applicants apply at least 7 days in advance of the market they intend to setup.
Please have any required food licensing certification on hand while setup as directed by Iowa Code.
