  • Since the Madison County Farmer’s Market is a non-profit organization, we utilize the funds to pay upfront costs of running the market, i.e. promotions, advertising, insurance costs and other fun things like live music and kid-friendly events. Portion of the vendor proceeds will go to local food banks and/or charities outside of funds needed to maintain an account and pay needed market expenses.

  • All positions with the Farmer’s Market are volunteer based. No pay is received at this time. The current market managers are Clinton & Kelli Eshelman of Winterset, Iowa as of January 1st, 2025.

  • As of 2025, the Madison County Farmer’s Market is an unincorporated non-profit association registered with the state as of January 1st, 2025. We have not met the federal monetary threshold requiring a 501©(3) at this time; although in the next year or two we see the market expanding and growing where it would be important step for the market to become a 501©(3) corp. It also has many more tax benefits for donations to the community.

  • Starting in 2025, the Madison County Farmer’s Market plans to donate funds at the end of the season to the local Winterset school lunch program and/or other local Madison County charities that are in need, such as C.R.I.S.P. and/or local food banks.
